What is Mamma United?

Mamma United is a non-profit organisation that works to empower mothers and women with knowledge, motivation and tools, to be able to influence their own and their children's lives.

Being a part of Mamma United means that you participate once a week for 3 months in our educational programme. Each session is 2 hours long. You will get to know other mothers in your neighborhood and receive important information for you as a woman and mother. Each session there will be an expert giving a lecture. For example, you will meet a midwife, a dietician or an economist. You will receive information about:

·       Healthy food

·       Physical activity and associations

·       Parenting

·       The female body

·       Mental and physical health

·       Safety in the neighborhood

·       Economy

·       Domestic violence

·       Labour market

Participation in Mamma United does not cost anything. You are welcome to join the first session and try it out! The group is led by a group leader who is always present at the meetings and who keeps in touch with all participants between meetings. We always offer fika.

If you have small children who are at home with you, they are welcome to join the meetings. The groups usually consist of women who have children of different ages from babies to adult children. All women are welcome to join Mamma United!

If you are interested, you can sign up down below or contact our local coordinator whose contact details can be found HERE or on the information sheet. We look forward to seeing you in Mamma United!

This is what previous participants say about Mamma United:

·       "The best thing about Mamma United has been the sense of belonging that exists at the meetings."

·       "At first I didn't know what Mamma United was, I didn't want to come there at first, but I went there, and it felt like home immediately. We are like a family."

·       "I told my son at home about budget, about movement, about children's rights. We have knowledge now."

·       "When you are new in Sweden, everything is new, new country, new language, new culture, even if you are an academic, you need someone to help you so that things become easier."
